Dr. Edelbert Häfele

Dr. Edelbert Häfele is CEO of PATEV and publicly appointed and sworn expert for valuation and utilisation of intellectual property rights. He holds a Ph.D. in Engineering from Technical University in Karlsruhe, Germany. His professional career started in 1985 when he founded a consulting firm focusing on environmental and process technology. Five years later, Dr. Häfele entered a joint venture agreement with a supplier for car manufacturers. He later sold his share of the company and became manager in an international material technology firm which conducted business in Germany, Belgium and the US. In 2001, Dr. Häfele became the Chief Executive Officer of PATEV, one of Europe’s market leaders for intellectual property management services. During the last years PATEV has greatly advanced the evaluation and utilisation of patents in companies as a contribution to added value. PATEV also offers associated services for the analysis and creation of effective patent items (patent engineering) and patent transfers. Dr. Häfele is member of several professional associations like DIE;DIS;LES and VPP and has been listed in “The World´s Leading IP Strategists“.

Stephan Lettau

Stephan Lettau, born in 1954, studied Mathematics and Economics in Freiburg, Germany. With more than 25 years of experience in Information Technology with over 20 years in management positions including executive positions in global corporations and mid-size companies Stephan Lettau is an experienced leader and manager in his home country and abroad. With this background he co-founded in 2004 a software company and worked there as managing director (CEO). For this start-up company he brought in investors, disbursed those investors, realized the technology and liquidized the start-up company successfully. Currently he coaches a dozen entrepreneurs of small and medium-sized businesses in Greater Stuttgart – the so-called “Stuttgarter Kreis” – and in addition he works as an instructor at a private school.

Michaela Maggi

Michela acts as a Coach for the European Commission and she assists multinationals companies as well as non-profit organizations. She is entrusted as Data Protection Officer of major companies in the field of innovation, scientific and genetic research as well as in many other field. She also assists entities on Intellectual Property Protection and had a PHD in this specific field. She is scientific chief of an institutional  European project of dissemination and training of Intellectual Property called “MarchieBrevettiUe” (i.e. TrademarksandPatents.ue) and she is member of the International Standing Committee of Trade Secret of the Association of the Intellectual Property Protection. Michela published a large number of scientific and informative works on IPR protection.

Dr. Julia Mohrbacher

Dr. Julia Mohrbacher studied biology and did her PhD on plant stress, but decided that interaction with people instead of plants is much more fun. So, she left academia and managed projects in product development and technology transfer. Furthermore, she started and ran the central European business for a Swedish biotechnology service provider and indulged in innovation and technology management by not only taking part in a public government funded project about technology transfer from a material science institute into SMEs but also doing a master´s in innovation and technology management. Since about 1 year, she is leading the regional digital innovation hub in Südbaden. Julia Mohrbacher will deliver the training on Collaboration with industry.

Moritz Stahl

Moritz Stahl is Consultant Business Development at bwcon GmbH working in the field of advising and accompanying high-tech startups and SMEs in the start-up and growth phase along the entire value chain. In addition to the substantive support of the founders in the area of their venture developments, Moritz Stahl supports the founders in the choice and application for relevant funding opportunities as well as in the search for suitable management coaches and the targeted matching with partner companies from the bwcon-network. Furthermore, his responsibilities include the preparation of founders regarding the merge of founders and investors for capital acquisition. Since July 2017, he is the sole project manager of the M.TECH Accelerator, which supports 25 technology startups from the Mobility & Manufacturing sector in the federal state of Baden-Württemberg with a holistic consultation and accompanying program each year.

Timothy Earnshaw

Mr. Timothy Earnshaw works as business development consultant for the bwcon GmbH. He has a Master’s degree in International Business and Economics with a focus on International Financial Economics, as well as Controlling and Finance from (University of Konstanz and University of Hohenheim). In his role as a business development consultant, Mr. Earnshaw holds the Venture Development Workshop series, laying the foundations for developing ventures from the idea to a reliable business plan. In addition, he screens up to 300 business models per year from the high-tech sector to determine the relevance for investors and the further development. Moreover, he is also active in Coaching Start-up Teams in several EU Projects like KATANA, Deeptechforgood. Besides, he is responsible for the cooperation with the UC Berkeley, California.

Ferenc Ender

Ferenc Ender PhD works as an associate professor at Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) as well as CEO at BME’s spin-off company Spinsplit LLC. He has electrical engineering and biomedical engineering degrees from BME and Semmelweis Medical University, Hungary. He is leading the Digital Innovation Hub at BME Department of Electron Devices which is an accelerator for SMEs to digitalise their products in the framework of H2020 EU projects EuroCPS, FED4SAE and DigiFED. After obtaining his PhD degree from BME he co-founded the bio-technology company Spinsplit and following a technology transfer, the company successfully commercialised some of the results of his scientific work. He is the leader of the Digital Innovations Lab at BME. The main focus of the laboratory is to accelerate the digitalization of traditionally disconnected scientific workflows especially in flow chemistry by using the technology enablers of Industry 4.0.

Tamas Bellak

Tamas Bellak is the partner of CEE Attorneys Budapest, a multinational law firm in the Central and East European countries. Tamas has more than 30 years of professional experience in the field of corporate, financial and banking laws, M&A, VC and private equity business. Tamas was born in 1964 in Budapest and graduated from ELTE Law Faculty, Budapest, Hungary in 1988. He started his carrier at multinational companies, including working at GE-Tungsram, ABN Amro Bank, Citibank and Inter-Europa Bank as legal counsel, then worked as partner in multinational and regional law firms in Budapest. His firm advised in a number of venture capital fund transactions in relation to innovation technology and bio-technology projects. Tamas has different roles in social activities, such as the Chairman of Hungarian Friends of Weizmann Institute, member of the International Board of Weizmann Institute of Science, Izrael’s number one life science basic research center. He actively participates in talent search and fund raising projects.

Stefan Haak

Stefan Haak is an experienced sales and marketing professional with 25+ years advanced expertise in the strategic development and implementation of marketing and sales activities, processes and structures. Innovative and driven by out-of-the-box thinking, competently deliver high-end value and successful results on well-planned and properly executed marketing strategies especially in the B2B markets (both for technical products and services). Frequently deployed a high performing marketing and branding strategies with a considerable background in facilitating demand generation programs to drive revenue creation. High expertise in deploying corporate vision and marketing strategy using all marketing means.

Peter Bittner

Peter Bittner is a European Patent Attorney specialized in IP strategy development and the protection of software innovations. He graduated in physics at the University of Erlangen in 1989 and gained practical research experience at the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Solid State Physics in Freiburg. In 1991 Peter joined Nokia holding various positions in R&D and Controlling. In 1996 he moved to SAP AG as a product manager and became a member of SAP’s IP group in 2001 where he qualified as a European Patent Attorney and acted as the global IP manager for SAP Research. In 2010 Peter founded his own IP firm and became president of I3PM International Institute for IP Management. Currently he is leading the I3PM Advisory Board as Chairman. Peter earned an LL.M. degree in Intellectual Property Law and Management from the University of Strasbourg (CEIPI) and gives lectures on IP law and management at CEIPI and the KIT. He has published multiple contributions in the field. Since 2015 Peter is an associate member in the EPPC ICT thematic group of epi.
